This is my extra credit vase. I folded the lip in, which turned out better than I expected. Also, to glaze it, I combined a little bit of blue, with a lot of white. I really liked how it turned out like a pale blue. It reminds me of a cool, kind of blue sky. I really like the shape though.
This is my choice project. I really like how it came out. The handle is the right size, and I wish I could copy the glaze. I spray glazed it, which was a very fun way of doing it. I hope to be able to do that more as the year continues. I really like how it fades in and out. This is my third set of three. Honestly, I really do like it. The glaze came out really wired, and the things dripped down. Next time, I will experiment with a glaze on a project that I do like. Lesson learned. However, I did like the shape. The detail was in flowed and hearts. This Is my wheel altered project. It is a cow. I made the bottom on the wheel, by using a closed project. Then, I used a pinch pot for the head, as well as the arms. I like how it came out, but next time I think I will smooth it down more. I had a hard time making the closed project, but it eventually worked out after a few try's. l This is my second project out of three. I like this one a lot better than the first. The detail came out really well. I used a new method of applying glaze by dabbing the brush to make a lot of little smudges. It has wavy lines to seperate off little sections. Overall it reminds me of fire. I like how it came out. This is my set of three vase. My theme for the set of three was three detailed projects. I painted black glaze on top of shadow green, but it never showed up because the green was so dark. I can tell where I tried to put black glaze, but it didn't work very well. I hope that my next 2 projects will turn out better. This is my second plate. I wanted to try something different with this one, so I made five porcelain petals, and then used the black stain to add detail. I didn't really plan on doing the detail, but I wanted to make it a little more complicated, because before my projects were very simple. I just started painting on black glaze, without thinking too much about it. I like how it came out, though. This is my first plate. Aside from a little bit of choppy glaze in a few spots, I really liked the way it came out. I used a basic white, to make the black stick out more. I definitely think it is an improvement from last semesters plates, which is what I'm working towards. The hardest skill was probably keeping the edges even, and also flaring the rim a bit. The foot ring wasn't easy on a plate, but it turned out well. This is my tall project. It is a huge improvement on last years tall project, but I would very much like to keep working on building up so that I can improve. I like the different kinds of clay that were incorporated like red clay, and porcelian. It was hard to attach the coils around it, but overall, it adds a nice bit of natural color. The black line was supposed to make it look bolder, but it really didn't end up doing much. I definitly want to improve my footing, as this one was footed while it was to wet, resulting in a smashed bottom.
Bowl two is similar to bowl one, but the flare isn't so dramatic on the top. The dark green glaze looks like glass on the bottom, which I really like. Overall it came out well, and I didn't really use any new skills. Shape was an art element I used to give a little bit of curves. |
