This is an extra credit bowl. I tried to mix two different glazes, but they came out a little weird. I hope to improve the bowl itself next time. It followed my theme because the shape is different than the other ones.
This is my hand and wheel teapot. I came up with the idea when I saw my first teapot. The spout reminded me of and elephants trunk, so I decided to take off with that idea. I like how it came out. It was a bit darker than I expected, but nonetheless , it's kind of cute. ;) This is my lidded project. I like how it turned out, but I think that I could have footed it better. I made one before this, but it never came out of the kiln, and I couldn't find it anywhere. The lid actually fits this time, so I think that it works. Next time, I would chance the shape to look more like a lidded project, because right now it reminds me of a vase with a lid.
This is my theme three. It started out as a vase, and then used my rib tool to add curves, and shape. The shape is very rounded to fit my theme. I glazed it in scrap, because I decided to take a chance with this. I like how it turned out.
This is my extra credit spring project. I created it for Easter, but the original broke once, and then a week later I tried again and that one broke too. Anyways, with lots of work, third time was a charm. I like the bunny, and the chick looks like it had a mascara problem. Oh well. :/ This is my tea pot. It is my first one, and I think it turned out okay, but it wasn't the best I have ever seen. I hope to improve on this one later in time. The lid didn't fit it very well. It overlaps the rim, and doesn't look great. On my next project, I will make a better lid. I used several new techniques such as making a spout, and adding the ball on top.
My theme was shape. To add that theme to this project, I pushed the top in with my finger 5 times. It formed a flower like shape that reminded me of the spring. The only problem was the glaze. I mixed purple and white, so on the outside, it crawled. Overall it came out good. The line added to the shape. |
